Call for Nominations: Umoja Community Education Foundation Board of Directors

The Board of Directors for the Umoja Community Education Foundation is seeking individuals to serve on its board.  Umoja is a community and a consortium of programs serving as an academic and professional development resource for colleges wishing to better support underrepresented as well as educationally and economically disadvantaged students.  Umoja exists to help close the achievement gap of African ancestry students by increasing retention, graduation and transfer rates.  Umoja promotes student success through positive cultural identity by providing a curriculum and pedagogy responsive to the needs of African ancestry students. 

The Board of Directors has identified a need for individuals with knowledge and experience in the following areas: financial planning, corporate or private business/entrepreneurship, marketing consultant, political leader, community activist, corporate development officer and attorney/legal consultant.
